I have no idea. That has no bearing on my point though. Try reading the entire thing again, maybe a third time, and you might understand the point.
You may want to try re-reading the OP again as well, as it seems the point may have escaped you there as well.

Well, the whole "B-b-but the Barn and the Bammers are doing it too!!" thing smacks of a last-ditch effort for some of these guys to make themselves feel better about the fact that their football program is about to get sucked into the whirling vortex of death.
