Might turn into a QB coach when/if the 10th coaching spot is approved.

Proof that our OC needs an OC.

Perhaps but lets see how our OC does w/ a decent OL and a QB w/ some experience.

I don't have a clue about this guy but hiring a former OC as a analyst or whatever seems like a smart move. Thinking out loud maybe he will be UGA's QB whisperer, not sure Chaney is the guy to take Eason to the next level.

Keep in mind James Coley, our WR coach was also previously an OC at Miami... even if not playcalling duties, most say he had a hand in Brad Kaaya's development there (which interestingly seemed to take a bit of a step back this year without him). I view it as a positive to accumulate more proven coaches... if you're going to keep pace with Alabama it's a war of resources at this point. Recruits, Coaches, etc...

As the offensive coordinator for Southern Miss in 2006, Johnson's offense set a record for most plays ran (888) and total yardage (4,635).

Which is just as relevant as Chaney and Drew Brees. Which means diddly squat.

Heres a little more on Johnson
quote:
Johnson directed an offense that set multiple school records during his five years at Louisiana. Under Johnson, the Cajuns set school records for total offense (5,914 yards) and points (461) in 2012. Johnson's offense finished 22nd in the nation in rushing in 2014, as it averaged 225.9 yards per game.
In 2013, the Cajuns set program records for total first downs (283) and total plays from scrimmage (883). Johnson's offense was also extremely effective in the red zone during his stint at Louisiana, as it finished 10th in the nation in 2014, converting at a 91.2 percent success rate.
