Barton Simmons on why Dameon Pierce dropped:

He's a good back. He's just not that guy that's a national top100 type. High 3-star is right for him. Can put up big numbers and can disappear.

Yeah Barton. Nick Saban accepted this kid's commitment during his Junior season and he's a 3-star.

Alabama has extended an offer to three-star defensive end Joseph Ossai, 247Sports' Brian Perroni reports.

Just this week alone, the Conroe (Texas) Oak Ridge product has claimed offers from Texas, Ole Miss and Nebraska.

Texas A&M is considered the team to beat in his recruitment. The Aggies offered earlier this month, and are currently the 247Sports Crystal Ball favorite at 100 percent.

At 6-foot-4, 217 pounds, Ossai is rated the No. 18 weak-side defensive end and the No. 364 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

Last season, Ossai racked up 46 tackles, including 10 tackles for a loss, 8.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries and one fumble recovery for a touchdown.

-Four-star wide receiver Al’vonte Woodard posted on Twitter that he received an offer from Alabama. This offer comes less than a month from when Woodard announced his top 10 schools, which did not include Alabama. He is the No. 11 wide receiver in this year’s class and is from Houston, Texas.

We offered another player from IMG Academy yesterday. He's in the Class of 2018 and is a Corner:

Notre Dame has the most CBs for him. I remember reading his name after some big camp a few weeks ago where he was dominant. I'll see if I can track down the article.

Okay, so this is a huge TIFWIW, but it's out there so I'll share it here.

People close to Patrick Surtain Jr's recruitment think things have swung in our favor and we now lead. One even went so far to call it a "done deal" and that Surtain's father is finally on board.
