Cross is the 1 hire that has backfired a bit on Odom. The CB coach did not last long, but was not a big negative. He just moved on.
Cross looked like a solid hire when it was made for many, many reasons. Things did not go so well last year on the field. Maybe things will improve this year, and we'll see how his recruits pan out.
And thanks for the Adoye explanation. Makes a bit more sense now.

DL is the real hire that back fired. Wilson only last a month. Ship wasn't liked by his position group, then got into an altercation the morning of the Tennessee game with a player.
Cross wasn't good last year, he was also trying to install a defense that none of the defensive coaches had extensive background in. Cross has been key in several of the Texas recruits committing.
