Bud Elliott CB'd Zamir to UGA. He usually holds his picks unless he's confident, and seeing how his momma loves UGA and Bama, that's pretty big.

Yeah it's 80/20 UGA/Clemson on CB picks for Zamir. No Bama picks. Bud Elliot also just CB'd Alfred Thomas, '18 DE/DT/OLB (depending on his weight I guess) 6'3" 255lbs., to the good guys as well. Haven't heard or read much about him but he did just visit Bama as well and he was thought to be an Auburn lean.
Edit: Thomas looks reallllly well put together, a la David Marshall. He won the UA Big Man Challenge(whatever that is) which looks like a skills challenge for the top O&D linemen in the country.

Emory Jones had a "secret" visit to UGA for a whole weekend recently, originally wanted to keep it secret from Urban. Also said he plans to visit us again, so maybe we aren't completely out of it with him.

He tweeted out "We on now #shhhhh18." I wonder what that means?

Anyone able to post the story from 24/7 regarding Emory's visit?

Not that it means much in the grand scheme of things, but the last 5 CBs for Christian Tutt have gone Alabama's way, including ones from Kipp and Jake.
TIFWIW.

I could be wrong but I don't think UGA is as high on Tutt as other teams. He was the top CB on the board two years ago, but we've seen Kirby target tall, long CB's. Again, not saying UGA isn't recruiting Tutt, but he didn't hear from the staff for a couple of months.

Zamir White is at Clemson today. CU also got a verbal from Xavier Thomas, #2 player in the nation, yesterday. Has to sting for SCAR fans

Zeus left the Clemson game and drove to Athens..no joke.

Checked Tigernet and they're saying Zeus is such a high character kid, the only reason he went to Athens is to tell Kirby he's a Tiger. Some people are delusional as shite

If that were the case why would he tweet out that he was in Athens literally hours after the Clemson spring game ended..smh they win a natty and are in la-la land. I'm going to love when they come back to earth now that Watson and the leaders of that team the past 2 seasons have left. They will still be good but I'd put money on them taking a step back this year.

"Clemson’s been an elite recruiting school for a few years under Dabo Swinney, and this year proves no different. Along with Thomas, the Tigers also have the 2018 recruiting class’ best offensive player and No. 1 player overall in QB Trevor Lawrence, according to the 247Sports Composite. Swinney’s not done collecting talent at the top of the recruiting rankings, and Thomas told us which player is high on the target list.
“We have the opportunity — I talked to Zamir White, and Trevor [Lawrence], of course Trevor’s already committed there,” Thomas recently told SB Nation. “Me and Zamir talked how we could have one of the best classes to ever go there, top three players in the country, [could] have a very special class going there.”
White is currently the No. 1 RB in the country and the nation’s No. 4 player. He’s not committed at the moment.
It’s still early in the cycle, but Clemson’s got an average 247Sports star rating of 95.09 with its seven current verbal commitments. If that number held to Signing Day, you could easily make the argument that this would be one of the best recruiting classes ever. "

Clemson will sign several 3* players to fill their class. That average will drop.

This might be overstating things a bit.
Their recruiting rankings the last 4 years have been:
2017-16
2016-11
2015-9
2014-17
So elite is pushing it a bit.
However, they have a great start this year....but it is only 2 months from the last class, so I think I'll wait and see if they can hold on to the class they are putting together. There is a long way to go.

to be fair, the player avg would have put them 5th overall last year I think. They took a small class, so the overall rating was low

True. But there is still 3 other years to compare. (A lot more, but that's as far as I went) I wouldn't call their overall recruiting "Elite", though.
ETA
Just went back two more years and they wer 15th both years. I couldn't call their recruiting elite by any standard. Keep in mind, whoever posted the statement said "since Dabo arrived"
He does seem to do a good job at getting kids that fit his system, and identifying kids that are overlooked by other schools...but Elite is just a strong word to me. I think of Elite as top 3-5. Great would be Top 10. Good below that. They have cracked the top 10 once. (MAYBE this year)

I agree. I would say more opportunistic and doing their homework at an elite level. They are finding great players at lower rankings
Obviously Watson was more opportunistic as they were the first to offer him and he stuck with it
