BEAVERTON, Ore. — The Opening Finals are a wrap. After three days of position drills, 1on1 competition and a 7on7 tournament that culminated in a Championship for Team Mach Speed at the Nike World Headquarters, it’s time to close the book on the premier all-star event of the summer. This year, we’re breaking down our prospect reports by region instead of 7on7 team. Here’s who caught our eye this week from the Southeast.

Alpha Dog

Justin Fields (Kennesaw, GA/Harrison) — He threw 16 touchdown passes. He completed 72 percent of his throws without an interception. His team won the 7-on-7 title with ease. For that, Fields was named event MVP — and deservedly so. In fact, this was a runaway. From start to finish, nobody performed at the level of Fields, whose decision-making and precision passes overwhelmed his opponents and wowed those on hand. He could push for the No. 1 overall spot in the 247Sports rankings.

Next 5 Standouts

JaMarr Chase (Metairie, LA/Archbishop Rummel) — Chase was Rogers’ top target in the games that counted most. On Monday, he grabbed 16 catches and scored five times. His routes were sharp and he consistently got open. He used his body and long arms well to attack the ball. And then, he caught everything in his area including the reception of the tournament — a spectacular one-handed grab down the left sideline for six.

Azeez Ojulari (Marietta, GA/Marietta) — The Georgia 4-star looks like he has the potential to be an elite pass rusher. He’s got that look. Ojulari is quick and explosive off the ball and his counter moves were sharp and destructive to offensive tackles. At times, he seemed to be playing at a different speed than everyone else.

Justin Rogers (Bossier City, LA/Parkway) — The TCU commit led his team to the championship game with two solid days. He attempted more passes than any quarterback in the event (127) and completed 71 percent of them with 14 touchdowns and six interceptions. He was the one quarterback who really wasn’t afraid to take shots down field. His stats didn’t come from dinking and dunking.

Jamaree Salyer, (Atlanta, GA/Pace Academy) — Salyer was overpowering during this event. Incredibly strong from head to toe, he also displayed great footwork and terrific instincts.Quick at the snap and powerful with his punch, he either kept defenders off-balance or got into their bodies to alter their rush.

Josh Vann (Tucker, GA/Tucker) — Vann was Fields’ top target Monday and a big playmaker for Mach Speed throughout the 7-on-7 event. He was particularly good on crossing routes and quick outs, when he often shined with catch-and-runs that picked up large chunks of yardage.

Emptying the Notebook

-After a slow start in Oregon, receiver Kearis Jackson (Fort Valley, GA/Peach County) responded with a big showing Monday. By our count, he grabbed 11 catches with two touchdowns while making plays all over the field. In one game, Jackson caught six throws.

-Linebacker Channing Tindall (Spring Valley, S.C./Spring Valley) continued his strong play Monday to cap an outstanding event. Some schools see Tindall as a potential edge rusher. Others as a downhill thumper. But Tindall was really good in Oregon playing in coverage. He made a great impression and showed that he’s one of the most versatile linebackers in the country.

-New North Carolina receiver commit Jordyn Adams (Cary, NC/Green Hope) was very good in this event. On Monday, he caught nine passes and scored twice. The consensus among the 247Sports staff: The Tar Heels are getting a nice one.

-Five-star Clemson quarterback commit Trevor Lawrence (Cartersville, GA/Cartersville), the No. 1 overall recruit in the 247Sports Composite, was not his sharpest in Oregon but while he may have come up short of the lofty expectations that come with being so highly ranked he certainly wasn’t bad by any stretch. Lawrence completed 65 percent of his passes with six touchdowns. He was, however, picked off four times in 19 total drives.

I personally think Tindall is more suited as an interior LB but no doubt he's an athletic freak. Give me two from JJ Petereson/Michael Harris/Zakoby McClain/Channing Tindall and I will be really happy
