Most of those kids probably qualify for extra grants through the government. They get a scholarship plus a grant and maybe their parents are halfway intelligent with money and you easily get the money that is being flashed around. It's not that difficult.
If you suspect they aren't intelligent enough to manipulate the tax code for their benefit then you must live under a rock because then they could also manipulate the system of welfare and disability. Really not hard esp for single parent home which many of those athletes come from.

Can someone post the COA stipend at Alabama on here?

So let's do the math...
Max Federal PELL Grant for those making below a certain income level used to be $5500 per year. Bama's COA is $5386. Say they get a $1000 refund check per semester that is supposed to go to books but they use a xerox copy machine for the books instead of purchasing books.
$5500 + $5386 + $2000 = $12,886
Add that up over two years and you have a $25,000 dollar car. Then say the kid gets a subsidized loan for $18,000 in a year, which could probably given to dead people due to how easy it is to get.
No your total is $25,000 + $18,000 = $43,000
Pretty nice Silverado with rims and maybe they 'negotiate' the price down.
Btw, the subsidized loan is interest free until 6 months after they leave school. If they get drafted it's no problem to pay that back. If they graduate with a degree and don't get drafted they have one heck of a first job because everybody in the state knows them and they pay that loan off with no problems.
Tell me this is entirely unrealistic.

Or some anonymous booster paid for it? Tell me which is more realistic?

PELL grant and COA and/or a loan. Easy way to do it without breaking the red tape of the NCAA.

After a kid graduates why don't you have a booster pay the kid $18,000 to mow the lawn. After the kid leaves he is no longer the responsibility of the university....
This scenario plays out assuming a kid doesn't go pro and they are actually try to pay kids.

Aren't y'all under investigation for recruiting violations?

Ok, but if your back up running back is driving a Mercedes G Wagon, someone might want to go ask a few questions.

All those kids go to Florida because they hate getting paid. They hate free cars.
