I think it is just the opposite. ESPN would like Uconn in the ACC as both a market in the east coast corridor and a long term block against the B1G adding them if their academics continue to rise and moves them from a ESPN school to a FOX school. It was my understanding the fallout with some of the ACC leadership - possibly coach K - was the block to Uconn.

It is my understanding that if Cincinnati gets in the ACC before Uconn it because the conference made it happen and not ESPN as ESPN want the opposite. As for the Big East it was better having it and 6 power conferences than the 4 we will probably have in the end but much of the blame for the destruction was the Big East turning down the deal keeping them at the bottom of the P6's than the top of the G5's where the AAC is now.



View the actual history of WBB by current conference as to where the real power lies to build the sport and quality from top to bottom in a conference.
