Let's not underestimate the fact that if you believe insiders, then Kiffin probably did Jalen no favors the last month of the season. I'm sure that stunted some of Hurts' growth.

What gets me is why we completely abandoned the long ball...even if we only tried it just to try to stretch the defense. We waited until the 3rd Quarter to finally try it. Hurts first TD against USC is a perfect example of what we should've tried more of. If it's 3rd an a mile at our own 45, just let Hurts chunk it way downfield and let one of our great WRs make a play. Best case is a catch and worst case is a pick that is probably no worse than the inevitable JK Scott touchback.

Totally agree. Low risk play and I trust our guys to make a play every once in a while on the ball or get PI.
