We need to recruit smarter Dlinemen.
Maybe even go for 85+ IQ.

TJ Moe is a douche. It had nothing to do with intelligence and everything to do with execution up front.
The bigger issue moving forward IMO is what they do at WLB. Moving Scherer to WLB is a pretty big vote of no confidence. Cross has a lot of work to do this spring.

We agree on something.
He had steady hands. Played tough.
But definitely out-kicked his own athletic destiny. He was in the right place at the right time.
Under all that he is a protein shake addict St. Chuck bro.

Scherer was making the observations
what happens to these guys that have 4 years of just go when they get to the NFL?

Were they not executing bc of lack of football intelligence?
Charles Harris is a beast. But what he does well is more of a physical thing, it doesn't require deeply engrained football knowledge.
He wasn't born and bred with football. He started late, I believe?
Always noticed people who started the sport I played late. It was obvious who they were. They didn't have the same IQ for the sport. Charles Harris probably lacks some of that.
Also that Howard guy is just a loser nerd who sucks, and those guys often don't have that 'real deal' quality to understand the game.
I bet it was a combo of defiance to change, plus inability to feel the game and read situations properly.

They invest in the scheme or they get cut.
Augusta and Harris are going to get to answer questions on why they didn't embrace what the staff wanted them to do in their interviews. It likely won't have an effect on Harris but Augusta's answers combined with his conditioning questions could cost him a round or two.

From your comment, I'm assuming you think Augusta's size alone is getting him drafted.
Thought he would really step up this last season and put himself in position to get drafted in the 3-4th round.
He did not.
I think his lack of conditioning/discipline may put getting drafted in jeopardy. If he was part of the scheme resistance we saw, I don't think his chances are very good. Hello, free agent tryouts.

A lot of them seem to be doing very well in the NFL?

When they swapped back to a one gap scheme, Augusta averaged 2.5 tackles per game playing NT the last 5 games of the year. Solid play considering his job was to set the double team.

I bet they don't resist playing the gap when they get there. Unless they want to get cut
