It's a simple fact that has been demonstrated in every major conference every time one team has dominated it. In every single case, going back 40 years, the other top teams in that conference always declined.

As for "blaming" Alabama, there's nothing to blame them for. They have a right to be as good as they can be. They owe no obligation to keep the conference as a whole strong, and if other programs can't keep up, that's their (the other programs') problem.
