I think he wanted the Penn State job. He grew up in the Northeast when Penn State was the shite. He was a fan. It was horrible timing when the sanctions. I think if he would have known the NCAA was going to reverse course, he would have been at Penn State and Franklin would have gone somewhere else.

It worked out for both teams - Mullen got State to #1 and Franklin won the B1G this year.
