I always liked Tubby. He only quit on Auburn after they tried stabbing him in the back.

He would do terrible. The man seems genuinely disinterested in coaching these days, which makes me doubt he would be eager to be recruiting at the level required to compete in the SEC.

I think Miles would be far more successful at another SEC school than Tubbs. And I don't think Miles would be very successful.

Hell no! Tubs was the biggest underachiever ever. Auburn could have been a juggernaut, but he was too damn lazy to get out and recruit.

Duck season is more important.

Championships from 1983-2006:

LSU - 1 NC, 4 SEC
Tennessee - 1 NC, 5 SEC
Florida - 2 NC, 7 SEC
Auburn - 5 SEC (2 undefeated seasons)

Alabama - 1 NC, 2 SEC (looks rather pedestrian comparatively speaking)

Tubbs can go skydiving without a parachute. I mean that in the nicest possible way.

Ha. UGA and LSU can do much better than Tubberville. You may not know it by Orgeron and Smart is too soon to tell, buy yeah.

Tennessee, perhaps they could not do better.

Alabama won SEC titles in 1989 (shared), 1992, & 1999

This occurred during the worst 20 year period you could find to use against Bama in the modern era. Picking and choosing years to make up stats does not support your position, but I digress. I bet your father, grandfather, great grandfather, and maybe great great grandfather, depending on how old you are, thought there would be no more Bama dynasties when, Wallace Wade, Frank Thomas, and Paul W. Bryant retired or left Bama. It might take some time, but sooner or later Bama will get an elite coach and start a new dynasty. And odds are you will be alive to see it.

Sorry, 3 SEC titles.

Still less than the other B6 besides poor Georgia.

Just showing what modern day Alabama is like without Bryant or Saban.

Will Alabama get another all-time greatest coach after Saban? Maybe, but probably not within 25 years. Then you can rant and rave about how we're picking on poor Alabama's worst 20 year stretch since their last worst 20 year stretch.

I don't know if a 20 year period in the modern football period of about 50-60 years is really cherry picking. A pretty significant stretch.

If I pick and choose my years I could make a case for any team. The fact is Alabama has the most conference and National Championships in the SEC,looking at ALL of the years. They have been the most consistent team in conference since the conference was started, once again looking at all of the years. Long before Nick Saban came to Bama, the Tide was winning championships and they will be winning them long after as well.

That's b.s. It's was UA's worst era in my lifetime, but Alabama still had more victories in that time frame (202) than any of those teams save UF (220), UT (218), and Auburn (205).

You are negating the 31 wins the ncaa decided UA should forfeit or vacate due to Antonio Langham signing a napkin in the celebratory aftermath of the national title game vs Miami, and the Shula era case when players didn't turn back in their textbooks.

Meanwhile, Auburn merely lost tv games for a year after coaches gave money to players. NCAA sanctions still are, but back in the 90s they were even more arbitrary.

So you want to negate Bryant and Saban? Ok. Let's play that kind of game. Negate the Mike Shula years and Alabama still has winning record vs Auburn since Bryant retired.

edit: And since you want to negate Bryant and Saban, then negate Pat Dye and Georgia Tech still has more SEC titles than Auburn has. Ever.

note: Georgia Tech hasn't been in the SEC since the early 60s.
