Do you guys have any news about Blackburn or on top recruiting targets like Cam Akers?
I have seen some articles flying around that Blackburn hasn't even been contacted...

Semantics probably. I think Blackburn is the favorite and there is not a close second.

No news is good news I suppose. Lamont Wade is giving his commitment on the 17th, DeAngelo Gibbs is announcing on the 1st. According to 247 Akers seems like an FSU lean

I think Wade is the only one we have a shot with at this point sadly. Akers would be killer but Chandler is still a stud.
As for any changes in staff/admin, I'm not sure what's taking so long with the AD hire but I think we'll see the staff changes post-bowl game

Butler and Corker are the last I think we land. Outside shot at Akers. I think the staff likes Corker more than Wade and we are out of it with Gibbs. Probably a few decommitments.

You gotta imagine that it should be official within the next week or so. I would hope so at least.
If it takes longer then that would indicate they're maybe going a route other than Blackburn.

Hyams indicated we may not make a hire until Feb but the latest from 247 has pointed to Blackburn being our guy. Hopefully, the delay is due to him wanting to leave UTC in a good place. Besides, I'm not sure how soon he could assume the role anyway.
That said, I've heard there are other names with strong UT links that would do well if hired. Given our options though, I'll be pissed as frick if we don't land Blackburn or another UT linked guy. We NEED someone that loves UT at this juncture and our AD has really suffered, imo, from not having that. And with so few coaches that truly understand UT an AD with strong links and a deep understanding of all things Tennessee is simply critical, imo.

Lot of pushback today from several sources regarding Hyams Feb. date. Most are saying it will be sooner.

I have to imagine that it will be sooner rather than later if our Admin isn't as incompetent as they've made themselves out to be the last decade.
