Lets see.

What? 4 years ago we won 4 games all yr
Fired the HC the next yr

Brought in a new HC
Won 2 East titles in as many seasons.

Theres surely room to improve, but only an idiot would say its not getting better than it was

I'm talking on offense. Florida's offense didn't do them any favors this year whatsoever. With a semi-competent offense you likely don't lose any regular season games. If what we saw on the field, on offense, was a product of Jim McElwain, I don't see how that would be encouraging to anyone. And McElwain was very close to losing several other games. Squeaked by Vandy, was the beneficiary oif LSU completely choking, played an ugly game against South Carolina. And all of his losses this year were beat downs. I don't think it is as simple as "well he won the East." The East was awful, hence the OP saying he backed into it.

ETA: and please don't think bringing up the LSU game proves anything. LSU wasn't good either this year and just fired their HC and OC

The East is just as down right now as it was when everyone, including UF fans, were giving the Missouri fans shite for bragging about winning it.
