I don't understand how that interception was "down by contact". If the WR touches the DB during the interception and the DB falls down, that's "down by contact" even though it was the DBs momentum that made him fall, not the WR? Doesn't even make sense to me.

It's just like when someone tags a player that is already down. The contact didn't make the runner go down, but it's one of the few rules that isn't overcomplicated by a referee's judgment call.
