Plausible... years ago Sheriffs repainted jails from hospital green to pink in order to embarrass/shame inmates...
violence escalated 1000%... Psychs were called in to figure it out... it was red pigments..

In the movie Gladiator they wanted to be on the red team because the gods favored red.
