He took one for the team to be sure.

Sacrifice is a bit strong. He's being paid pretty well to "make things better internally".

Everyone involved knew what this was, it was a rebound relationship that got everyone where they need to be, it's time to move on.

So what we're saying is that if Mizzou had ponied up and gotten a real coach, he couldn't have "gotten things right internally" and won more than 9 games a season?

ETA - Make that 11 by season 3
