JJ does not have the footspeed and did not run a read-option offense. Other than height and the color of his skin, he wasn't like Cam at all. Jason Campbell with a head injury is a better comparison.
I saw Queen play in HS and he's definitely not a DT qb. Gus tried to force some square pegs in round holes and that's what you saw when White got hurt.

Let's not be a revisionist here. Coming out of High School, JJ was compared more often than not to Cam. They did run zone reads, options, etc at Carver as well. Yes, he turned out like Campbell with a head injury, but coming out of high school, he was "supposed" to be the perfect style of QB for this offense. He just didn't live up to his abilities.

I did as well. He was definitely not the fastest, more of a power runner, but they run plenty of zone read. When he has done it at AU, he ran them very well. Not every dual threat is necessarily in the Nick Marshall or Lamar Jackson mold. That doesn't make them not a dual threat.

Now, if you guys want to argue that the only type of QB that works in Gus's offense has to be a Nick Marshall type, have at it and I'll leave you be.
