They could give him a title such as Run Game Coordinator like Elliott had, which would then allow for a multi-year contract (I think position coaches only get one-year contracts, while coordinators can get more than one) with a salary from $500K to $750K. The position coaches this past season already were earning $200K to upwards of $500K.

Elliott earned a salary of $500K this past season, while Lance Thompson like Elliott earned $500K last season and is under contract through the 2017 season. Thompson has the dual title of DL coach and Associate Head Coach for Defense - a move similar to how Spurrier had Ward as his DC and Ellis Johnson his Assoc. HC in chrg. of Defense in order to give both Johnson and Ward multi-year contracts (it was how we got Ward away from Arkansas).

Wolford reportedly earned around $200K as the HC at Youngstown St., so it shouldn't be much trouble to give him a better salary to be USC's OL coach....

$500k plus $35k in performance incentives and a two year deal.

Unprecedented for us with OLine coaches ... plus he's been given a mandate to recruit some big boys from the Midwest.

Our best OLines in history have always been loaded with big Midwestern boys.
