OM's rushing offense national rank under Freeze:
2016- 97
2015- 45
2014- 75
2013- 42
2012- 51

Schematicly, OM is a middle of the road rushing offense at best. I think Skirp's point is valid in that OM won't magically jump in the top 15 because of Akers. A RBs value will never be fully realized in that scheme. It's a pragmatic point of view. While I'm typically a pragmatist, I don't want Akers at OM. It's a perception thing. "Despite the disater this class has been, we can still grab the 2 best players in MS."

Who said we would become a top 15 rushing team?

There are multiple reasons OM has not ran the ball exceptionally well.

1. Scheme (rpo)
2. No Elite back
3. No bell cow taking most of the carries
4. Lack of overall carries

The scheme is changing according to Freeze and the other three would be fixed by an elite back like Cam. Freeze understands recruiting enough that if you ever want another elite back you have to feed the one you have. Thats why he plays elite freshman and gives them touches. Its for future recruiting.

I love how one year/and or one game changes yalls outlook on the difference in the two programs when both teams give a damn. Can you imagine saying this this time last year or the year before, that you dont want the best player in the past decade out of MS going to OM simply because of perception? With Chad OM had the most prolific offense in the league without a running game, but lets not fear OM getting an elite player at the one position they havent had one. Good lord.
