I'm going to get a little off topic here, but this is frustrating.

Predicting 8-4 in year 5 with everything Sumlin's been given is an indictment in of itself. The fact he somehow lowered his own bar, met that expectation and got away with it shows the cultural issues Aggy has that keep us mired in mediocrity.

Richt got fired for going: 12,8,10,9 wins. He had 7 more double digit win seasons worth of goodwill built up, prior to that stretch.

Miles got fired for going 10,10,8,9. He had 5 more 10+ win seasons of goodwill, two natty appearances, and a ring.

Sumlin has been given a top 10 roster, a top tier (we thought) DC, the finest stadium in the country, and almost full autonomy with the program. He's given us 11,9,8,8,8. Furthermore, it's painfully obvious to the entire country that our players don't get better and our team that coasts purely on athletic talent has no backbone or desire to fight back when they get punched in the mouth.

What does Sumlin do? Offensive Guru? Nope. Master recruiter? I suppose, he's right on par with Fran and within range of A&M's historical average all while being given support/things to sell no other coach has ever had.
He squanders opportunity at an elite level all while being an absolute dick head to everyone.

Off topic but on point. Blue star to you, sir.

Same.

Screw it, the thread has already been derailed enough.

Chill98, you don't look back after a season and go, "well we finished above, below, or right at where I expected" and base your review of our season off that. You look at it week by week and see how you compare and stack up to teams and then how they stack up to the rest of their schedule. And when you do that, our season was poor, we had no business losing to two Mississippi schools that were sub .500 for the year. Period.
