11 Months Removed From the Sugar Bowl, Glad to See #WAOM Alive Again

I was getting worried that success of a Sugar Bowl and CWS birth would lead to bigger things, never getting us back to our rightful place in the college sports universe.
Needed the comfort and solace of Draft Night, 2016 Football, and now NCAA/Rebel Rags sting operations. This all makes sense and I'm getting those old nostalgic feels again, y'all.
#WAOM is back mother frickers!

I'm not sure it ever went away? LSU 10-7, rolling out the carpet for Bama. Auburn half-yard line. TCU. Memphrica. Steroids. 4th and 25. FSU and Alabama supernova's. I just expect it at this point and when things go the other way, it's a pleasant surprise.

I think we can chalk some of those up to mean regression. We did go from dumpster fire to contender in 2 years
4th and 25 tho

2014 was the most WAOM year I've ever seen, and let me tell you why.
Baseball: we finally make it back to Omaha for the first time in 4 decades..... and proceed to lose to the ONE team we can never beat
Football: we finally take down Alabama. Shoot up to #3 in the country.... and offense disappears in Death Valley. We beat #4 (overrated) State in the Egg Bowl and move up to #8 in the country.
We then proceed to get shite on by TCU in a NY6 bowl while I'm sitting at the Rainforest Cafe bar in Animal Kingdom.
Nothing can top the roller coaster feels of 2014 boys. Nothing.

That was brutal, but once again there is a process. You don't just go from dumpster fire to champion. This is hipster WOAM. Would take 10 recurrences of 2014 over:
7-1 in the SEC, still doesn't win West
Afternoon Fireworks
Coach O
HDN 2011
David Cutcliffe Recruiting 2-Stars on the reg
James Meredith noose/Obama Protest/KKK rallies losing the persistent PR battle

In 2015, after watching our boys go over to Tuscaloosa and pull out a hard-fought win, I went to my local pharmacy and picked up two copies of the Sports Illustrated magazines where Trae Elston's face was the cover page. I gave one to my dad, and, with all the confidence in the world, said "Remember this day when we win the SEC this year, and know that this was the turning point for our program."
Then, a few weeks later, we proceed to lost in the most fricking absurd fashion to Arkansas because of the 4th and 25 miracle. We then proceeded to finish second in the division, and we would have finished first if that one play hadn't happened.
I was a dumb miracle play away from being right. I can't tell you how sad I was at the end of the season after looking back and knowing that we had a trip to Atlanta in the bag if we just didn't WAOM that game away.

Why do people forget we got blown out by Florida and that was equally responsible for us not making Atlanta? That game was more egregious than 4th and 25 because Florida's offense was a joke even with will Grier and he went 21-27 against our defense.

Nice retro-melt haha. I'm running with an image of your interaction with your Dad:
*Slaps SI copy down on table*
"Dad..."
*Taps SI cover several times with index finger*
"Remember this. Remember this day...when we win the SEC, you'll be looking back on this day. For it was today, that we made Alabama rememeberrrrrrrr, forever!, the night they played the Rebels."
