You guys have your views. I have mine.
On recruiting, I have yet to hear a recruit mention that they specifically came to Auburn for Gus. To play Dline for Coach garner? Sure. The WRs coming because of Dameuyne Craig? Sure. But I don't get the sense of love and adoration I see recruits have for Saban or Les Miles or others.
On the morale, I don't think the players like how he jerks them around and is always pissed off. I point to the number of players that quit the team over the last few years like Roc Thomas. I'm not saying Gus needs to be Mr. rah-rah Pete Carroll but compared to Les Miles or Richt or even Dan Mullen, Gus is not what I would call a "player's coach."
But I do like that the team never quit so maybe that should have been above average.
