Was it because they stacked the box? If so I still don't understand the dump pass to Godwin?

With a stacked box, we go two tight ends with our best blocking receivers and bang out yards...2-4 per play and then punt. Either way, passing was the decision that costs us the game.

But again, I hope Eason feels bad about that INT because it was his fault. A very shitty throw.

I think they knew we were going to run the ball to run the clock down...so yeas, they were bringing men closer to the LOS. Kirby saw that and wanted to drive the nail in the coffin by throwing a quick hitter, and hoping Godwin could shake loose and maybe get a cheap score. I understand why he did it. It's a very tempting thing to do.

I agree 100%. That is what he should have done. Like I said...it's very tempting to try to get a cheap TD.

He is much more inaccurate than I thought he would be. Sometimes more work can get that out of a kid....sometimes they can't shake it. It could be we have to settle of a strong armed QB, that throw inaccurately sometimes. If that is the case it will be a high risk, high reward, boom or bust type of thing we will face. I have a feeling he will be working with his personal coach over the off season to correct that.
That said, most of his interceptions this year have been due to tipped passes, and not fully his fault. The GT pass was tipped and should have gone down as an incompletion. He has made fewer mistakes than most freshmen QB's, though, imo.

I can assure you. Nobody feels worse about it than Eason and Godwin. No matter how badly we wanted to win that game, the players want to win it a lot more.
