Has nothing to do with ticket sales, hotels, tourists, etc. Highest-ranked team goes. Barring a Florida win, it will be Auburn.

While technically true because it goes off the CFB playoff rankings, the Sugar Bowl and playoff committee will definitely be communicating throughout the process. All things equal, committee would likely rank the Sugar Bowls preferred choice higher. Again, all things equal, and that may not be the case in the eyes of the committee.. They very well may see auburn or Florida or LSU as the team that should be ranked higher regardless of the SBs preference

Personally, I think LSU should be ranked the highest and is the best team. But I 100% get the argument for Auburn. Won't be disappointed either way, because both LSU and Auburn had their chances to control their destiny and failed.

Why? What is LSU's best win?

These Bowl committees have absolutely no power anymore. They just stand around in their custom blazers like chumps. The ONLY thing they have any say over is which local gladhander's bimbo daughter gets crowned X Bowl queen.

Now, ESPN is a different animal. They went all in and spent billions of dollars monopolizing the TV rights to college football and the bowl games. They overextended themselves and are financially struggling now as a result.

If anybody has the ability to whisper in the Committee's ear it will be them.
