LSU fans are SO funny. That school has, almost without exception, gone to the "bargain bin" to find coaches.

So, with Miles gone, the LSU fanbase deludes themselves into thinking that the LSU AD will leave no stone unturned in an aggressive, nationwide and professional search to find the very best available HC and football mind. ABSOLUTE DELUSION.

The LSU AD, AT THE VERY LAST MINUTE, feints this way with Herman, feints that way with Jimbo and then like magic: "We will not be held hostage by Herman or Jimbo so Coach O is the new coach."

One would have to be a delusional fool not to see through this charade. It was a bargain bin hire and it was ALWAYS intended to be a bargain bin hire. There was NO professional coaching search. NO firm that performs coaching searches was hired (no, that would cost money).

So, the OP is right. LSU powers that be are banking on the fanbase's ability to delude themselves into thinking that there was a real search.

LSU's administrators are not LSU football fans. They are not serious about championship football at LSU. The LSU fans ARE serious about it, but, not the LSU administration.

So NOW the only thing LSU fans can do is to rally around the new HC. That is the noble thing to so. But there are questions out there that need to be answered:

Should the LSU AD be ashamed of the manner in which he played and tricked the LSU fanatics into rallying behind the new coach by deceiving them into the belief that there was a professional thorough and nationwide search?

Isn't it a shame when university admins who don't care about championship football take advantage of the fanatics who DO care deeply?
