Some great hypothetical games were played on this thread, but that is all they are. '95 Nebraska was truly a great team, but I am old enough to remember the '71 Nebraska with Johnny Rogers. They laid the worst whipping on a Bear Bryant team that I can remember. Ironic that since Nebraska finally decided to ditch that "outmoded" option offense, they have never even come close to their former glory days. Will Bryant disciple Mike Riley be able to turn things around for them?

Oddly enough, though he was coaching Michigan State at the time and not Bama, Saban's worst losses ever came to the 1995 Nebraska team (50-10) and the 1996 team. Saban said the game was much worse than the score indicated and he said Nebraska destroyed them so bad that he thought he took the wrong job and wouldn't win a game the whole year (it was his debut at Michigan State).

Saban has said repeatedly how hard the triple option is to stop when you have the right players running it. And since you don't see it much anymore, it's very hard to simulate even when you have plenty of time to prepare (like Florida did) because you have to really know it and have the right talent to even simulate it.
