If they really think he's ready, I say play him.

Listen, if we have no direction or trajectory because we have no real options at QB, and they think WB may be the guy next year, let's get it started. If KP is back, great, maybe we can start to build an offense to take into next season. It'll also inform our decisions regarding how badly we need a transfer QB.

The alternative is to go with a guy who is banged up and may be unlikely to be our starter next year (SW) or a guy highly unlikely to play QB for us next year (JFIII). We limp to the end of the year, with no real chance of continuity between the end of this year and preseason. I'm tired of going year to year without any reliable carryover.

I understand it's unlikely that these things are true (WB is ready to play, Gus will burn the shirt), but if they're both possibilities, I'm entirely on board.

Jf3 and JJ shouldn't play. We know we suck with them.

I'd rather find out what WB would be capable of. I think we over value the red shirt on this board. We're still in shape for a good season and recruits are playing attention to what's happening

No way we burn that red shirt now. Facing Alabama A&M isn't going to teach him anything, and throwing him to the wolves in Tuscaloosa would not be good for his future development.

We take 8 - 4, we go to the shite Wiper Bowl, and we hit the recruiting trail. That's the best we can hope for at this point.
