I saw several instances and actually have screenshot pictures of the Aggie and SC game where there was a checkdown opportunity and Dobbs threw a bad interception. In overtime of the Aggie game, Kelly was wide open in the flat and would have probably scored but he threw the interception instead. SOmething a senior qb shouldnt do. I cant understand why in the Hades they dont have a qb coach. I think sometimes they try to put too much on Dobbs and he folds under pressure. Still, he has won way more games for this team than hes lost. Im glad he is a Vol.

Dobbs just hasn't been as good this season protecting the ball as in years prior. I think the early OL play has him hearing footsteps constantly even though that's largely been cleaned up but I don't know. With Dobbs I think you just have to concede that he is who he is and that's a super streaky player who can be really, really good or really, really, bad. It's just been his MO for too long.

He's had the best QB coaches you could ask for since HS (he's got Whitfield, IIRC, for a private QB coach and has been coached at the Manning and other QB camps) but whatever progress he'd made in the offseason (and he has looked better as a passer at certain times) has been undone by the porous OL we had to start the season and him slipping back into bad habits. Versus SC he was throwing dirt balls even though he had no pressure whatsoever.

I love the kid but that's on him as a senior QB. He still has footwork issues. Just about every INT he's thrown in his career has come off his back foot and he knows better than that but for whatever reason can't/won't break that habit while the others have come when he's gotten impatient and tried to force things.

I think a QB coach would've done him some good but he might actually be suffering from having too many QB coaches. He works with 2 QB coaches in the offseason on his own dime and has worked with Sheridan/Debo with the team.

EDIT: He did look good today tho which I think was a game he needed.

he has to go back home during the off-season to work with a QB coach because the guy we pay over $4 milllion/yr to lead our football team is too fricking retarded to realize that maybe, just maybe, a legitimate QB coach might be a good investment.

Dobbs is a phenomenal ambassador for UT. I love the kid so much. It's unfortunate he got shite on by this coaching staff.
