Ball drops for 1st time in NYC in Times Square
Georgia prohibits alcohol sales
Japanese immigration restricted (Muslims of their day?)
Oklahoma (46th star) added to the US flag
Harvard establishes the Harvard Business School
Mothers Day observed for the 1st time
C J Bonaparte issues order to staff Office of Chief Examiner (now the FBI)
Springfield Race Riot in Illinois (current Missouri neighbor)
Henry Ford produces 1st Model T and Durant forms what will become General Motors
Taft (Republican) defeats Bryan (Democrat)
Boston Rubber Shoe Company founded (a.k.a. Converse, creator of "Chucks")

What does all this mean?

October 14 1908 – The Chicago Cubs win the 1908 World Series defeating the Detroit Tigers in Game 5. They would not win again until November 2016, which stands as the longest championship drought in sports history.

October 14th 1908 game took 1hour 25 min to play in front of 6,210

November 2nd 2016 game took 4 hours 28 min to play in front of 38,104

Anybody know how much of that ~ 4.5 hours was commercials?

Enjoy your drunk, just don't drive!
