Our parents gave us the money for our wedding. It was roughly 150 people in an Episcopal cathedral. We spent about $22,000, but the VAST majority of that was on liquor... and they still ran out of bourbon. The last three weddings I went to were all over 100k. These were all rich Dallas people, and the parents could easily afford it, and if they are will to pay, good on the people for providing a service and getting money. That's the American way... still doesn't mean I have to like it.
