Pot is a "deviant" behavior. By procuring it and using it, one often comes into contact with deviant subcultures that have different norms than mainstream society. As one continues to associate with that subculture, then other behaviors that one might have once consider aberrant can become normalized. Obviously, that didn't happen with you, but it DOES happen quite often.

Eh, If you are at a college party, whether you do drugs or not, there is going to be drugs there obviously. I was asked and offered cocaine and x multiple times, while under the influence of pot/alcohol and still refused.

Just because you smoke pot or used to, I don't view that as the same as going to a party and getting offered cocaine, and if that person chooses to snort some, GATEWAY DRUG!

I just don't know anyone in college that viewed marijuana like it was deviant, whip out cocaine or x and you may get a reaction, but not MJ. It was the same as alcohol, you were either grabbing cups of alcohol or passing around blunts.

I would even go as far to say that alcohol is a bigger gateway than marijuana, I have seen some really drunk dumbasses "try" cocaine or x for the first time mainly because they were drunk and said sure why the frick not.

Drunken mistakes aplenty, I don't know of many mistakes I have made or seen from someone just being stoned tbh.

BUT the way the media wants you to view the gateway title as "Oh man I've been smoking weed for 6th months I have a huge craving to shoot up heroine now!!!!" and that is just not how it works but that doesn't stop the media from fooling senior citizens who vote.
