I'm really not worried about LSU's ability to stop Alabama. Hurts isn't a great passer, and LSU is built to defend the zone read.

The big match-up will be LSU's offense vs. Alabama's defense. LSU has to throw early and avoid turnovers in order to set up the running game later on. And they have to run it relatively effectively. Alabama's secondary isn't amazing, but when you drop back to pass, you open yourself up to the assault of their pass rush. I'm sure LSU will be one of, if not the best O-lines Alabama has faced this season. However, I don't think that matters too much. They will get after the quarterback against anyone. We have to find a way to protect Etling, and give him some easy throws that can keep him out of danger.

I think it's going to be a low-scoring game, I think.

Good thing for Bama is that the offense has the personnel to run multiple formations, styles and is capable of running pro set, zone read, shot gun, I, etc.

Sure Bama has incorporated more zone read option and RPO into their arsenal of plays. Just has made it more diverse and harder to game plan against.

While Lane can be frustrating with his play calling the man is a hell of an offensive mind and will have a great game plan. I trust him much more than the jokers L5u have running their offense.
