Yes, but their football program is so bad that they would lose to a SEC East team.

And when the scalpers start selling vacancies in English 101, those English prof's will be making 5 mil a year too.

I think so but that's just me. The agents definitely push it up. Buyouts tend to make me scratch my head. It makes a coach unfireable if decided it is best. There should be set goals that need to be hit, and if not then letting a coach go shouldn't be so difficult. If a coach comes in with 10 win seasons expectations, and nothing but 5-6 win years he should be gone. He isn't going to though cause he has it kush until his contract is out or buyout hits the right spot. Then can drop into the coordinator or lower ranks HC rotation.

Obviously lots of specifics to these contracts, but university's definitely lost having the upper hand in most of these. It's like a good mid major is sitting in the sweet spot when it comes to hiring. Retention not so much.

No, it isn't. I don't doubt that taxpayers in Germany subsidize college such that the average tuition costs students about that, but the actual cost of education in Germany is far higher than that. What is the real cost to the German society of that subsidy? I don't know, but I promise it's not a rosey as you'd like to believe.
