Maybe. I'm sure it doesn't hurt that the three defenses you faced in those games were abysmal. Missouri - 109th Ole Miss - 107th Only Southern Miss is highly ranked on D, but that's smoke and mirrors - take out the 41 yards vs Savannah State (WHO?) and their ranking plummets. This team gave up 400+ yards to Kentucky and 532 yards and 55 points to UTSA - a team averaging 29 points and 391 yards per game. So, yes, LSU is improved... but they've demonstrated that against three completely horrible defenses. So, they're both the beneficiaries of the majority of their "good" numbers coming against horrid defenses. Outside of those games, they're not good at all. Thankfully for both teams, they rely on the run game. Neither QB is winning against a good defense with their arm.
