If Crump doesn't play more... this team will be lucky to make the NIT

Depends on what exactly being handcuffed entails, is it just not allowing Fox to "get dirty" in recruiting or is it something much more. There is enough to sell at UGA that we don't necessarily need somebody who is an absolute slimeball, snake oil salesman, handing out free cars to get good players here. Fox isn't necessarily a great recruiter and he doest always seem to like giving a lot of minutes to freshmen, but he's done a good job of bringing in good players. Maybe I'm biased but I feel that an up and coming mid-major coach or assistant at a top school would be very interested in the job, should it become available.

Ok, so what are you going to sell at UGA?
Say the final 3 for a 5* guard from Atlanta are UK, UGA, and Duke.
What do you sell him on?

But we don't want this job to turn into a revolving door by someone using it as a stepping stone.
Idk if this is true or not, supposedly Michael Adams was so embarrassed by the Harrick ordeal and the awfulness of Felton recruits that he pretty much prevented Fox from going after the AAU kids and playing the "dirty game." Again, idk if that's true but it's pretty widely thought of. Fox had to change perceptions of the program when he got here after the fiascos of Harrick and Felton.

When fox was first at UGA nothing but staying home. Now you have graduation rates, post season opportunities, big games, and pro prospects either overseas or abroad.
The situation is much improved and Fox should be able to recruit better and he is.

don't be a moron. That's like asking if the final 3 for a 5* football recruit in las cruces are NMSU, Bama, and Ohio State waht should they sell him on?
We aren't going to get those kids, period. And we never have. Harrick won without great recruiting, he won because he was an absolutely elite Xs and Os coach. Fox could damn sure recruit better considering the talent in state but he hasn't recruited BAD. He's simply an awful in game coach.

That's been the opposite argument of fox detractors this entire time. This year it seems as if he has given to much reign to the team and isn't controlling as much as in the past.

Are you saying its impossible for us to win out in that situation? Alabama has a top 10 national recruit from Georgia in their class this year, Auburn went out and got 2 5 stars in last year's class, and neither of those schools are anywhere close to being traditional basketball powers but made big coaching hires recently. FFS, even Western Kentucky has a 5 star top 10 player committed. The right coach can find a way to sell an inferior program.

True...to be fair, Bruce Pearl has been widely known to be a cheater and wouldn't be shocking to learn of it with those two recruits.
LSU is a perfect example of that philosophy. They had a great kid play last year but the surrounding talent wasn't good enough to get them where they needed to be and after one year he is gone and they suck. Fox's philosophy seems to be different, build up the supporting cast first. He is going after big fish but hasn't landed one since KCP.

LSU had a ton of talent last year. Just not a great amount of depth, and Johnny Jones is 10x worse than Fox.
I don't think I'm on the fire Fox train quite yet, especially because I don't trust McGarity to make a good hire. I'll wait until after the season to make a full judgment on Fox.

You said we have enough at UGA to sell kids so that they come here. I'm askino you what those things are.

Sumter is making out like we can by selling them on what UGA can offer them.
Fox wins without great recruits too. Tell me, how many tourney games did the great Jim Harrick win while at UGA? One? Was it vacated?

Think you can wrap your head around that?

What's that sound? A bubble bursting again. Epic choke job right there. I think we should extend fox for another nit bid.

Blows my mind you're up Kirby's arse in year 1 for not winning enough with a freshman QB but you're just fine with Fox failing to accomplish anything of note in 8 years and showing no improvement in basic aspects of the game.
We have some retard fans.

It doesn't matter if I wrap my head around it. It's the recruits.
Most 5 stars aren't worried about academics, so throw that out. Athens is a great town. Keep that. Getting stuff named after you...hmm.
Then he gets on campus and looks at our facilities, fan passion, and laughs

Too bad fox isn't some great floor coach that some mistake him as.

Because recruits always make decisions that seem logical to the public. Despite what you think we aren't completely incapable of pulling an elite recruit at least every other cycle, and we are certainly capable of having a coach that can draw up a press break better than your average middle school coach could.
