Well done analysis.
I've been in favor of a realignment and cancellation of permanent cross divisional games for some time.
In the long term maintaining this imbalance will really hurt SEC football.
The entire conference is built to put Alabama in the best possible position to play for a National Championship. It works.

Under the old 5-2-1 (two permanent cross divisional opponents) format I would agree with you... under the current 6-1-1. I just don't buy it.
