I understand Huepel's approach. Spread out the defense and create mismatches outside the hashes. So whether that's screens or natural windows based on coverage, it gives Lock an opportunity to complete passes at a high percentage.

Alabama is using this same philosophy to thrive. I believe their QB throwing ratio is something like 40% outside the hashes, 45% screens/behind the line of scrimmage, 15% in between the hashes.

I don't think our coaches are just incompetent. It's a reason Zander's was 2nd on the depth chart. So many variables brought us to where we are today and hopefully we can see a sustained level of progress in the second half of the season.
