im claiming 3, you can claim 2 if you want.
We were top 10 in 1970, 1986 and 1987.
The 70s were 1970-1979, the 80s 1980-1989 and so on IMO.
Yes the 20th century was technically 1901 to 2000, but decades can go either way when saying 70s 80s and 90s. since you are so dead set on low balling I'll go with 3.
Decades
Your OP said 70s 80s and 90s. Once you realized how off that was you went from "1971-2000" to try and minimize the damage.

The correct answer is 3. Sounds like Klatt just needs to check his facts before he runs that big mouth.

You're 100% correct.
I can't believe some gargoyles are arguing this. Sid E Walker's assertion that 1970 is part of the 1960s is utter nonsense.
1970-1999 = 30 years. As you said, LSU had 3 top-10 finishes in the AP Poll during those decades. Also, LSU had 4 top-10 finishes in the Coaches' Poll during that time frame.
LSU also had 10 top-15 finishes in the AP Poll and 9 top-15 finishes in the Coaches' Poll during those decades.
