Miles would recruit at nowhere near the same level at Mizzou as he did at LSU, for several factors. Facilities just being one of them.

If facilities dont matter then why are we dropping 75M on them, just to start? Hell, we could have just taken that money and offered Chip Kelly 15M per year for 5 years.

Of course they matter, and its the one thing we can fix in a relatively short period of time with money.

Put it this way, someone is giving you a weekend getaway.

First offer is a luxury lake house with a stocked bar and a yacht in the boat slip. Second offer is the motel 6 2 miles inland and a coupon for half off a pontoon rental. How good of a salesman does the guy have to be to get you to take option 2?

Sorry, I wasn't implying Miles would recruit at the same level, what I meant was Miles would have a greater impact on recruiting than the South End Zone.

And I agree, I would rather offer Chip Kelly a truckload of money, and I bet Nike and Oregon would too. Our 75 million is nothing compared to Nike's damn near Billion dollar investment in Oregon. They wanted Bama type recruits, what they got was 70 points put on them by Washington.

The investment worked for Kelly because recruits bought into Kelly's big time offense. Without him, the big west coast recruits aren't choosing Oregon.

Florida can say they have a great football facility, but the truth is they just built it last year. Before that, they practiced indoors in a parking garage (not exactly a yacht), yet Spurrier recruited his azz off.

Don't get me wrong, I want the south end zone project done because it looks cool and I believe the football program deserves it. But just like Iowa's 50 Million dollar project, I don't think it will change recruiting. Now replace the DB coach with Joker Phillips, and that will get a bump in recruiting
