IMO, facilities are for boosters and fans to brag about. Miami has had HORRIBLE facilities. Clemson's facilities did nothing until Dabo arrived. Michigan has one of the best indoor football facilities, but it didn't matter until Harbaugh got there.

If Nike, Under Armour and a Billionaire can't buy recruits to maintain a program, do we really believe Mizzou will? Oregon gets 200 million a year. They have more money than anybody including Bama. Halfrick cannot recruit at a high level, despite Brazilian wood floors etc. Recruiting will be and has always been about the head coach. If I had a choice between the South End Zone and Les Miles for recruiting purposes, I would choose Miles in a second.

Miles would recruit at nowhere near the same level at Mizzou as he did at LSU, for several factors. Facilities just being one of them.

If facilities dont matter then why are we dropping 75M on them, just to start? Hell, we could have just taken that money and offered Chip Kelly 15M per year for 5 years.

Of course they matter, and its the one thing we can fix in a relatively short period of time with money.

Put it this way, someone is giving you a weekend getaway.

First offer is a luxury lake house with a stocked bar and a yacht in the boat slip. Second offer is the motel 6 2 miles inland and a coupon for half off a pontoon rental. How good of a salesman does the guy have to be to get you to take option 2?
