You missed my point completely - OP said "The SEC is not plotting against LSU". I can assure you that this is a case of "All teams are equal, but some teams are more equal than others". Point being the SEC office would never allow the same situation if a certain other team was involved.

For the record, I think this is by far the best option at this point and most LSU fans would rather play the game that weekend than not play at all or lose a home game in November.

Perhaps you are correct, if you are referring to Alabama the league certainly has a financial dog in the race. You're giving a lot of people a lot of credit though.

BUT more likely.. The incompetence of an inexperienced commissioner allowing the decision to be delayed is to be blamed. The course was likely set by Foley with leverage before the SEC even knew there was a game being played. By that point they were along for the ride. The other option is to look insensitive on Thursday, which would be a PR nightmare.
