Our offense was just as inept against Clemson and TAM. It's not like the LSU game was an outlier. We are in the SEC which boasts a lot of talented defensive rosters. The excuse that we played against good defenses isn't going to fly week in and week out.

Which is precisely my point. 400 yards isn't good enough now. Clemson is actually the outlier in terms of yardage. So that leaves one area of struggle overall, the redzone and pass protection. Things are looking pretty good with a list that short.

Neither the total yards nor the passing completion percentage, nor the total plays per game are the appropriate measurements to gauge how effective the offense is. Ever since peewee football, we have been taught that that main goal of the offense is to score touchdowns. That should be the ultimate measuring stick. Usually, in a healthy offense, the yards, the total plays, etc will accumulate in conjunction with scoring more and more touchdowns. As such, spend less time worrying about that crap and spend more time scrutinizing our ultimate problem. And that would be only scoring 15ppg against power five teams. No matter how short our list of problems is, by not being able to score TDs, which is the main offensive goal of football, our list of problems might as well be long. We're going to lose games that we shouldn't and we're going to sacrifice our exceptional play in other areas for a mediocre season.
