Before the game Saturday Marcus Lattimore tweeted out that a legend would be born in Willy B that day. Here is that man
Rico Dowdle

Rico is amazing. Total stud. I was mega impressed with him and I am stoked about seeing a helluvalot more of him this year and in the yrs to come.
Like someone else said in another thread, I knew we had a young team but I didn't realize how young we were across the board until Saturday. With the incoming recruiting class and the youngins' we have now, there is absolutely no excuse for us not to be kicking arse and taking names in a couple of years.

Yeah I think the # on offense is out of 42 scholarship players, 35 are freshman or sophomore

Truly mind boggling. This honestly reminds me of UT a few seasons ago. Super young didn't have the maturity to pull out wins (except against us for some reason) and it took Butch a good few seasons to turn them into contenders. I have all but written off this season as just learning experience for the younger guys. I don't expect us to win more than 7 games next year either. I think when we'll really see improvement is year 3 of Boom when Edwards is draft eligible. Then we will have some talented upperclassmen and should have brought in some more top 15 if not top 10 classes to supplement.

Image if he had an O-line to run behind....

Dowdle reminded me a lot of Lattimore, he always falls forward and the first man usually doesn't bring him down. Both of those will only get better as he matures, both mentally and physically. I think he'll prove to be the biggest steal in the class of 2016 by far.

There is a theory, an adage, if you will ... that OLines perform directly proportional to how their running backs perform behind them.
It's a "which came first, the chicken or the egg" conundrum.
Are good RBs good because their OLines are good or are OLines good because their RBs are good?
Some coaches will tell you that RBs and OLines have symbiotic relationships on the football field and that especially OLines do better when they know their RBs are going to make them look good.
I dunno. Makes sense, to some degree, I guess.
Dowdle does look good so far - but honestly Williams looked good at first. Doesn't now, but he did back then.
