Alas, overpopulation strikes again.

Or the fact shitty food is subsidized. Soy and corn is grown in abundance so we can fill cardboard boxes with fake food.

People are brainwashed into feeling stupid about having a big garden in their yard.

People are brainwashed against things like canning and food preservation.

The entire food industry and food distribution system is whack. The entire model is wrong.

Not surprised thinking beyond step one eludes you once again.

Soy and corn go to produce fresh meat. Not food that goes into cardboard boxes.

In many developing countries, a loaf of bread costs more than a full day's wages. If that person is lucky enough to have an actual job.

In the USA, you can feed an entire family of four with the average wage of one hour of work.

We have -- by far and away -- the cheapest and most abundant and available food choices of any society ever assembled on earth. And it's not even close.

You just don't know what you're talking about on this particular subject.

I have literally never met a single educated person in my entire life who thinks fresh food from a garden is a bad idea.

What kind of people do you associate with who think being self sufficient in growing and preserving your own food is a bad idea? I'm genuinely curious.

I know a lot of people in suburban areas in Louisville that have gardens in their backyards.

My grandmother has been canning foods from her backyard garden for around 50 years.

I think the issue is more so that you don't have anywhere to have a garden in urban areas. We've seen more farmers markets pop up but when they tried to build a "FoodPort" downtown in the West End (the poorest area of town) but they didn't like that it wasn't exclusively black run and wanted a sports complex instead.
