I've never understood the whole "Florida won't leave their state" argument. Why should they go to the expense of travelling farther, and deprive the fans of in state rivalries, just so they can say the "traveled out of state"?

I don't get it either. Travel > strength of opponent?

I do wish we played a PAC-12 team or UCF or USF instead of a cupcake, would be a decent opener.

Big Ten fans say this a lot. They get so caught up in statistics that they miss the whole point. The two idiotic Big Ten arguments I hear are "Florida never leaves the state to play an OOC opponent", and "Southern teams have an advantage in bowl games because they aren't played in cold weather".
