Does the NCAA benefit too much off of college athletes? The NCAA almost topped 1 Billion dollars in revenue in 2014 (USA Today). That is a lot of money for the hard work from college athletes whom likely will not ever earn money for the sports they play.
I know that there are ways in which players are paid such as scholarships, free room and board, and also there are players illegally paid. Should the NCAA find a standardized way to pay these athletes or would it be too complicated? Because some schools, for instance like in the SEC make more money than say, schools in the Big South so it would be hard to form some sort of payment system.
I personally know athletes who have such little time that there is no way for them to have a job and play a sport at the same time. Some say "well it is their choice" and yes I understand that but playing a sport is a full time job now a days. Just want to start some dialogue and get some thoughts.

If the work is not worth the reward, then quit doing the work. Pretty simple.
But getting an education and the exposure they get for NFL/CFL teams is obviously worth it so they still play.

The NCAA gets the vast majority of it's revenue from the NCAA basketball tournament. They don't get much at all from the other sports. The CFP isn't an NCAA run event and none of the conference championships or bowl games are either. They're really only making money on basketball and no one in the SEC out side of UK should give a shite.

IDK, but with the NCAA pulling this BS in North Carolina, they are not going to have many supporters at all very soon.
