To me the biggest issue is the QB. Auburn has the same problem but at least some hope was put in the JFIII basket but that faded as the summer progressed. You can't win or play championship football with below average QB play. LSU can run LF but that won't win a championship. Auburn kicked its version of LF off and created the most confusing offensive game plan in the history of football as a result.

Why did anyone believe Harris would be significantly better?

I agree, but I feel like the QB problems have become such a topic of conversation that all other weaknesses get ignored.

LSU has become average to above average in the trenches, especially on defense. They have great skill guys, but they haven't proven they can dominate the trenches in a long time.

But we take good QBs and turn them into ghosts of themselves.

As a thought experiment, imagine that Brandon Harris chose to attend ... let's say ... TCU. He sits behind Boykin for a couple years and this is his first year starting. Is Brandon Harris a good QB for them this year? Or does he play like a scared child?

I think Harris would be a perfectly good QB in another system or another team that didn't destroy his confidence.

They'll go 9-3 or 8-4 and Les will still be their coach in 2017.

Its insanity that we cannot get decent QB play.

Its almost unfathomable.

Our state is loaded and we are the only top dog in it, yet we can't get a good QB play at LSU.

This also has to be a development problem with Miles and Can as well.
