In retrospect? People have been saying this about the ridiculous LSU hype since May.

we had hoped our coach was "woken up" by last year's events

And this is why. There is no tangible reason to expect a 10 year coach to all of a sudden "wake up" and change, or for glaring weaknesses to just disappear. It was a snowball of media narrative that just melted away all legitimate concerns about the roster and coaching staff.

Most pundits had us doing pretty well. Yes, it is easy to start this thread with the benefit of hindsight. The fact is that all the pieces are there. The only thing that's crazy about any of this is the fact that our coaches can't put it all together.

He almost got fired. That's pretty tangible. And he will get fired after this season if we keep heading in this direction. Also pretty tangible.

This was Les' last chance, and he's blowing it. Very little room for error now.
